Survival ch.19

-----A couple of minutes later--

The group of Pokemon were celebrating that they were rescued, but they were still anticipating the return of their friends.

"I can't believe they did it!"

"Woohoo!"

"We're alive..."

Delilah, however, stood away from all the celebration, still looking at the headquarters in uncertainty. Her daughter clung to her leg, also looking towards the far off building.

"Where are you...?" Delilah whispered. Marina stayed quiet in awe as she kept looking at the building.

Suddenly, something took off from the roof of the building, and started flying towards the group. Neither of them knew what to think of the flying object, which soon turned out to be a helicopter. Once the engine noise was heard, everyone turned around and looked at it in silence.

The helicopter flew down and landed in front of the ground, kicking up dust. Everyone shielded their faces from the dust. When the helicopter landed and the dust settled down, everyone stared at it.

The helicopter's door opened, and out stepped the four that went in the building. Everyone cheered.

"You're back!" Travolta and Lennon's team yelled, as they suddenly charged them. They didn't have time to react as they were suddenly tackled to the ground and celebrated by their teammates. They laughed and cheered.

"What was it like in there, huh?" Ridley hurriedly asked.

"Hehe, well..." Travolta began.

While they started to explain what happened, Arthur looked at the happy group reunited once more.

"Arthur!"

The sudden voice that Arthur knew most made him suddenly turned his head to see Delilah running towards him, tears of joy in her eyes. She embraced Arthur, to his surprise, and dug her head deep into his shoulder. Arthur could only hug her back as emotion overflowed from her, and he could feel the wetness from her tears through his jacket.

"You're alive..." she softly whispered.

"Yeah, I'm alive..." Arthur whispered back.

Suddenly, Delilah closed her eyes and kissed Arthur on the lips, to his shock. He did not know what to do,  so he simply kissed back. They held the kiss for a while, and then broke off. Delilah put her head on his shoulder again.

...Wow...

"Are you okay?" Arthur slowly asked. Delilah simply nodded.

Dan looked at the scene in silence. "Pfft, since when does he get all the attention?"

As soon as he said that, he felt something hug his leg. He looked down, and saw that it was Marina, who looked at him happily with her crystal blue eyes.

"Thank you for saving us, mister," she said in a little voice, smiling brightly. "You're my hero!"

Dan actually felt a wave of happiness come over him for once. "Aww, come here, you little girl!" he laughed as he suddenly picked her up and tossed her up in the air. She screamed and laughed in joy.


Minutes later, they continued to talk, and the time eventually came to say goodbye.


"Hey guys!" Alan called from the chopper. Dan and Arthur looked back.

"Perhaps we shouldn't waste too much time and get back to base..." he said. "Besides, I'm worried about the fuel on this bird and Storm's and this Lucario's condition...especially hers."

"Right, we should get going," Dan agreed. He and Arthur turned towards the group, who looked at them back.

Travolta stepped up and extended his hand to shake. "Thanks for everything," he said. Arthur shook his hand, and so did Dan.

"Pleasure working with ya, mate. Thanks." the Grovyle said.

Lennon also stepped up to shake his hand. "We're really going to miss you guys..." Again, Arthur and Dan shook his hand as well.

"Me too...." Arthur agreed.

Then, Delilah stepped over to Arthur, and hugged him again.

"We'll miss you two..." she whispered. "Especially you..."

"Yeah..." Arthur whispered back. "I'll miss you too..."

Dan stepped inside the helicopter. Soon enough, so did Arthur. Everyone stood next to it, waving.

"Goodbye!" they all said.

But then the door opened again, and Arthur's head poke out.

"How about 'next time' instead of goodbye?" he joked, as he closed the door again. Everyone laughed.

The helicopter slowly started to take off from the ground. Everyone looked at it and waved goodbye as it flew off into the sunset...
